Educational Outreach
The Alton Symphony Orchestra has committed itself to supporting music education and young musicians. The ASO is proud to sponsor our two educational programs, designed to help young musicians showcase their talents and further their music education. We encourage all young musicians to audition for the Marie Stillwell Young Artists' Competition and/or apply for the ASO Music For All Scholarship.
The Marie Stillwell Young Artists' Competition is hosted annually for young musicians to compete for the chance to showcase their talents and win the opportunity to perform their chosen solo with the Alton Symphony Orchestra.
The Music For All Scholarship, founded by the Alton Symphony Orchestra in 2018, is a scholarship for young musicians that are in need of financial assistance for private music lessons. Applicants do not have to be currently enrolled in music lessons to apply.
